Tree Planting and Research Project

What have you learned and what are the highlights of the project?

Because of this project I got to learn a lot about different types of trees, what type of soil is best to use, the perfect amount of rainfall, the tree’s habitat, its growth rate, stem diameter, thermal reduction, how to plant it, when is the best time to plant it and when is the best time to water it. I also gained knowledge about the trees by learning new names. Also, getting to present our work in front of people from other countries on what we have made. For me the  highlight was seeing the differences in what the tree need. Example the soil: some trees need rich soil, some need sandy soil and others might needs clay soil.                                                                                    Sathana Chhut, Grade 7

I learned and experienced a lot of things from this project. I learned about different types of trees from Ukraine and the USA. I learned how to plant a tree, and I also learned about the weather in those countries. I made lots of friends from Ukraine and the USA too. Also, the teachers and the students were very friendly and kind. The highlights of this project were planting trees to help save the environment and learning about trees that are important in each country.

The process ....

Prepare big pots where the trees will be transplanted.

Fill the pot with soil and fertilizer until they are almost full.

Remove the tree from the plastic pot and transfer it to the big pot.

Add more soil and fertilizer to the pot and secure the plant.

Water the plant and place it where it can receive enough sunlight.
